Re-issue of Passport for Adults on completion of Validity – 36 Pages

Re-issue of Passport for Adults on completion of Validity – 36 Pages

Overview:
Indian Passports are generally issued with a validity of 10 years for adults and 5 years for children up to the age of 15 years. Upon expiry, or when certain conditions apply, a new passport must be obtained as part of the re-issue process.

The practice of handwritten endorsements for changes in personal particulars (such as name, address, or appearance) is no longer followed. Therefore, any change in personal information requires issuance of a new passport.

A new passport is also required in the following cases:

  • When the existing passport has run out of pages for visas
  • One year prior to the expiry of a 10-year passport
  • Upon final expiry of the current passport
  • In cases of damage, loss, or theft
  • For correction of personal particulars
