Resident Certificate – Overview

A Resident Certificate is an official document issued by the Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) that verifies the residency status of an Indian citizen residing in Thailand.
This certificate is often required for various legal and administrative purposes, such as:

  • Confirming long-term residence for official purposes in India or Thailand

The ICAC assists Indian nationals by verifying their residential status in Thailand and issuing the Resident Certificate accordingly.

Who Can Apply

Indian nationals who meet the following conditions are eligible to apply:

  • Hold a valid Indian passport
  • Legally reside in Thailand on a long-term visa (e.g., student, work, dependent, etc.)

How To Apply

  1. Create an Account: Register on the Du Digital Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website.

  2. Fill Out the Government Application Form: Click here to access the form.
  3. Book an Appointment: Schedule your visit to Du Digital ICAC by choosing a suitable date and time.

  4. Prepare Your Documents: Carry your passport, photographs, and all supporting documents as listed in the Documents Checklist section.
  5. Visit Du Digital ICAC: Visit the designated ICAC. The address and location will be mentioned in your appointment letter. Ensure you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.
  6. Submit Your Application & Pay Fees: Submit your documents and pay the applicable fees at ICAC. Refer to the Fee Details section for exact charges.
  7. Enroll for Biometrics (if required): Complete biometric enrollment if applicable.
  8. Application Submission Complete: You’ve successfully submitted your application.
  9. Track Your Application: Monitor your application’s status online.

Resident Certificate for Work Permit/Tangdao Holder

  • Covering Letter stating details of service needed and for what purpose with address mentioned in detail
  • Duly filled Covering Letter Form
  • Passport copy of Main Visa holder – 2 sets
  • Work Permit/Tangdao – 1 set
  • Residence Proof in Thailand with applicant’s name on it. If providing rental/lease agreement, attach owner’s ID copy and house registration copy as well
  • Authority Letter if the applicant cannot apply personally, along with ID/passport copy of authorized person
  • All original documents must be shown during submission at the center.

Resident Certificate for Retirement Visa Holder

    • Covering Letter stating details of service needed and for what purpose with address mentioned in detail
    • Duly filled Covering Letter Form
    • Passport copy of Main Visa holder – 2 sets
    • Residence Proof in Thailand with applicant’s name on it. If providing rental/lease agreement, attach owner’s ID copy and house registration copy as well
    • Authority Letter if the applicant cannot apply personally, along with ID/passport copy of authorized person

Resident Certificate for Student Visa Holder

  • Dully filled Covering Letter Form
  • Passport copy of Main Visa holder – 2 sets
  • Student ID copy – 1 set and letter from the institution
  • Residence Proof in Thailand with applicant’s name on it. If providing rental/lease agreement, attach owner’s ID copy and house registration copy as well
  • Authority Letter if the applicant cannot apply personally, along with ID/passport copy of authorized person

Resident Certificate for Non-F Visa Holder

  • Covering Letter stating details of service needed and for what purpose with address mentioned in detail

  • Residence Proof in Thailand with applicant’s name on it. If providing rental/lease agreement, attach owner’s ID copy and house registration copy as well
