What Happens at the Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC)<\/strong><\/h2>

On the Day of Your Appointment:
<\/strong>Please arrive at the ICAC 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Timely arrival helps ensure a smooth experience.<\/p>

Mandatory Personal Attendance<\/strong>:
All applicants must attend in person for services related to visa, passport, or consular matters. No third-party submissions are allowed (except in permitted cases).<\/p>

Accompanying Persons<\/strong>:
Only the applicant is allowed entry unless:<\/p>

  • The applicant is a minor under 18 (one parent\/guardian may accompany).<\/li>
  • The applicant requires physical assistance or medical support.<\/li><\/ul>

    The Indian Consular Application Centre provides a range of services, including:<\/p>

    Visa Services:<\/strong><\/p>

    • Tourist, Business, Medical, Student & other visa categories.<\/li>
    • Document verification.<\/li>
    • Biometric enrollment (as required).<\/li><\/ul>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      Passport Services:<\/strong><\/p>

      • Passport renewal or reissue.<\/li>
      • Lost\/Damaged passport applications.<\/li>
      • Change of particulars (name\/address\/date of birth).<\/li><\/ul>

        \u00a0<\/p>

        Consular Services<\/strong><\/p>

        • Surrender of Indian Passport.<\/li>
        • Renunciation of Indian Citizenship.<\/li>
        • Police Clearance Certificate (PCC).<\/li>
        • Attestation and other consular certifications.<\/li><\/ul>


          Documents to Carry:<\/strong><\/p>

          • You must bring the following documents based on your application category:<\/li>
          • Printed application form (with 2D barcode) \u2013 2 copies<\/li>
          • Passport bio page \u2013 1 copy<\/li>
          • Valid passport or travel document with at least 3 blank pages<\/li>
          • All supporting documents (originals and photocopies)<\/li>
          • Applicable fee receipt, if already paid online<\/li><\/ul>

            If you miss your appointment, you can reschedule after 24 hours.<\/p>

            Biometrics (Visa Applications Only):<\/strong><\/p>

            • Biometric enrolment is required for most visa applications.<\/li>
            • A digital scanner will capture fingerprints (10 fingers) and a photograph.<\/li><\/ul>


              Important biometric guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>

              • Face must be fully visible; no sunglasses, tinted glasses, or non-religious headgear.<\/li>
              • Fingers must be free of henna (mehndi), ink, or cuts.<\/li>
              • Postpone your visit if you have temporary finger injuries.<\/li><\/ul>


                Biometric Exemptions:
                <\/strong>Biometric data is not required for:<\/p>

                • Children under 5 years<\/li>
                • Applicants under 14 years (for fingerprints)<\/li>
                • Applicants who are physically unable to provide fingerprints (medical proof needed)<\/li>
                • Heads of State or government officials on official visits (and their spouses\/official delegations)<\/li><\/ul>


                  Security & Code of Conduct:<\/strong><\/p>

                  • Random bag searches may be conducted for safety.<\/li>
                  • Please be respectful. Any abuse or intimidation towards staff is not tolerated.<\/li>
                  • Be ready to present your passport, application form, and collection receipt for verification.<\/li>
