Overview

Indian nationals residing in South Korea can register the death of a family member or relative at the Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC). The Death Registration is necessary for obtaining a Death Certificate, which can be used for various legal and administrative purposes, including repatriation of the deceased’s remains, claiming insurance, and settling estates.

How To Apply

  1. Create an Account: Register on the Du Digital Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website.

  3. Book an Appointment: Schedule your visit to Du Digital ICAC by choosing a suitable date and time.

    Documents Checklist section.
  5. Visit Du Digital ICAC: Visit the designated ICAC. The address and location will be mentioned in your appointment letter.
    Ensure you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.
  6. Submit Your Application: Submit all required documents for your application. Please note that if any required documents
    are missing, your application cannot be processed.

  7. Arrange an Interview with the Embassy (For Foreign Nationals):
    Interviews are held every Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. ICAC will help schedule your interview
    at a time that is convenient for you.

  2. First Information Report from an individual known to the deceased.
  3. Original and Copy of Notarized English Death Certificate from local authority or hospital with Apostille.
  4. Original Passport along with copies of the first, second, and last pages (of both the applicant and the deceased).
  5. Original and Copy of Alien Registration Card (ARC) (for both the applicant and the deceased).
  6. Family Consent Letter
  7. Relationship Proof with the Deceased (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.)
  8. (If the death was unnatural) Detailed Police Report.
  9. (If applicable) No Objection Certificate (NOC) from local authorities for repatriation of mortal remains.
