Re-issuance of OCI

The OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) card must be re-issued under certain conditions to ensure that it remains valid and up to date with the holder’s personal and travel documents. While the OCI card is a lifelong document, it may need to be reissued once after the age of 20, or in cases of loss, damage, or change in personal particulars.

When Re-issuance is Required:
  • When a new passport is issued after turning 20 years of age (only one-time re-issuance required)

  • In case of loss or damage to the OCI card

  • If there were errors or omissions in the original OCI card issued
