Overview:
Indian nationals residing in South Korea can register the birth of their child born in South Korea at the Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC). The birth registration is essential for obtaining a Birth Certificate and can serve as a basis for acquiring an Indian passport for the child. This service is applicable for children born to Indian nationals or to a mixed-nationality couple where one parent is an Indian citizen.

How To Apply

  1. Create an Account: Register on the Du Digital Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website.

  5. Visit Du Digital ICAC: Visit the designated ICAC. The address and location will be mentioned in your appointment letter.
    Ensure you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.
  6. Submit Your Application: Submit all required documents for your application. Please note that if any required
    documents are missing, your application cannot be processed.

Documents Checklist for Birth Certificate

Parents can apply for both their child’s Birth Certificate and Fresh Passport at the same time.

  1. Printout of Online Submitted Birth Registration Form:

  3. Copy of Notarized Child’s Birth Certificate in English issued by a Korean Hospital with Apostille.
  4. Original Parents’ Passports along with copies of the first, second, and last pages.
  5. Original and Copies of Parents’ Alien Registration Card (ARC)
  6. (If Applicable) Original and copy of Marriage Certificate.
  7. (In Case of G-1 Visa Holder) Signed declaration by both parents regarding the nationality and citizenship of the child.

1. What is Birth Registration at the Indian Consulate?

2. Who is eligible to apply?
